Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 8th April 2020
In light of the recent government advice, we are all playing our part slow and halt the spread of coronavirus to protect the community.
To give you a new update of how we are currently working in these difficult times, we would like to reassure you that we are still very much available on a daily basis, as one of our specialist optometrists is on hand to continue to give you remote advice over the telephone or via email. Please email us or call and leave a message and we will endeavour to get back to you within 24 hours.
We will be at the practice one morning a week for collections and to answer any queries that cannot be answered remotely. To protect you and the community we are operating a ‘closed door’ by arrangement system on this morning and we thank you for your understanding regarding this.
Our email address is firstname.lastname@example.org and our telephone number is 01622 758566 or 751122.
Contact Lenses– If you are a contact lens direct debit patient, we aim for your supply to continue as normal and where possible change your supply to arrive at your home. Please contact us to arrange this or discuss your options. If you are due your contact lens after care appointment this can temporarily be done by a remote contact lens review. Items can be collected by arrangement. For all other contact lens queries please contact us.
Spectacles– If you have an urgent spectacle problem please contact us. Our labs are still available for spectacles lenses and we are working with them for essential needs.
Routine appointments– NHS England have advised all routine appointments to be halted. If you are due your routine appointment, we will be in contact with you as soon as normal service resumes.
If you have an urgent eyecare problem and we are not contactable please contact the NHS 111 service.
We thank you for your understanding during this difficult time and, when the time is right, we very much look forward to welcoming you back to our routine clinics.
Please do all stay safe and wishing you all the very best.
Rebecca Lewis (MCOptom Prof Cert Glauc) and the team at Pendleburys
